Gone to the lake

Heading to Grand Lake in a couple of hours for a kid-less, 4-day weekend with my man.
Boat cruisin', cocktail sippin', sunset watching, & sitting under the stars is what I've been dreaming about all week.
I hope you enjoy your holiday!
Happy Memorial Day! XO

Scenes from our weekend

Sand angels at the park on Friday
 Total Sass
My best friend Jen & I at Bellini's, under the wisteria for dinner on Friday. My favorite patio in OKC, besides our own.
Nephew's t-ball tournament on Saturday.
We're so proud of him!
 Go Jagger!!
Dress up mani/pedi.
Ava's first mani/pedi. And last for a while.
She's not quite ready. ;)
My mini herb garden in a wine box, thanks to our friendly neighborhood wine shop.
Got the idea from Pinterest and I adore it.
The herbs include basil, cilantro, parsley, chives, mint, & rosemary.
Antique shopping with Audrey on Sunday.
I found this zebra lacquer box that I fell in love with. And for only $12, I ended up going today to pick it up. Such a steal!
Hope you enjoyed your weekend! XO

In honor of Mother's Day

Sometimes life feels this way.

"Author Anna Quindlen reminds us not to rush past the fleeting moments. She said: “The biggest mistake I made [as a parent] is the one that most of us make. . . . I did not live in the moment enough. This is particularly clear now that the moment is gone, captured only in photographs. There is one picture of [my three children] sitting in the grass on a quilt in the shadow of the swing set on a summer day, ages six, four, and one. And I wish I could remember what we ate, and what we talked about, and how they sounded, and how they looked when they slept that night. I wish I had not been in such a hurry to get on to the next thing: dinner, bath, book, bed. I wish I had treasured the doing a little more and the getting it done a little less”(Loud and Clear [2004], 10–11).

Starting today I am going to be better.  I am going to listen, love, communicate, cherish, enjoy, teach, preach and prepare my children. Time for everything else later.

Happy Mothers Day!! XO

3 Wishes

I'm participating in 3 wishes today because I love to dream.

I got the idea from Natalie at Designer Bags and Dirty Diapers whose blog I read religiously. I love her style, her little boy is a charmer and I've been known to cook up a few of her recipes. If we lived in the same town, I feel we would definitely be friends.

My 3 genie wishes would be

my own backyard art studio with wide open doors
and enough room to do whatever I wanted
2
walk-in closet with island for alllll my jewelry, fancy chandie
and a built-in vanity (with amazing lighting)
3
Whisk my hub off to a romantic get-away to Italy
for a 2 day cooking class is Tuscany

and kayaking along the Amalfi Coast, south of Napoli

for this amazing view

Boy, that was fun....and depressing. Haha! All in time! My hub always tells me that.
What would your genie wishes be?
