Dining Room Decisions

I love sooo many different looks and styles and consider my taste to be very eclectic. I'm overwhelmed with all my ideas which makes it difficult to decide on one particular thing. I LOVE our home and everything in it, but feel like it's not really my style sometimes. I know how weird that sounds considering most of it, if not all of the accessories were mine before we got married. For the last year, I've been giving away/donating everything I'm not in love with anymore. With most all of our furniture being hand-me-downs or pieces we've inherited, which that I'm VERY grateful for, I'm craving more of a polished, put together look. And since the furniture is here to stay, I have to create that more 'polished, put together' look that I'm craving with paint, fabric & accessories.

~So with that being said, here's a glimpse of some of my ideas to create that space~

I love this mood board and am thinking along the same lines as the color palate. Whites, grays, black
I adore:
~gallery wall above the console
~gray stripes
~of course, the Imperial Trellis fabric on the chairs
along with this gallery as well....
Dramatic Affect:
~Black & White Stripes
~Star burst mirror
I like this look with the rustic farmhouse table, and black & white accents
This is the gray I'm leaning towards for the dining. Very dark & cozy. Really love the look of the settee and mis-matched chairs.
Maybe one accent wall of this wallpaper/stencil

Pillow Decisions

Here are a few of my favorite pillow designs I'm pondering over.
Etsy has the BEST selection, I believe.
We have a deep orange/bronze couch and I'm wanting some fun, colorful pillows to mix it up. These are my favs:
Love this tie dye from West Elm

Ceramic Markers

I inherited this lovely vase from my grandmother after she passed away last year (the crystal candy jar was hers also that she had on her coffee table, always full of candy :). I've been fond of it ever since I was a little girl and was so happy to receive it and make a home for it.
While I love the pastels, it just didn't really fit into my decor palatte.
So I recently discovered ceramic markets, which I purchased at Michaels. I bought turquoise and orange (are you surprised?) and spent the morning adding some pops of color to it while the girls were sleeping. At one point Audrey ran off with the orange marker before her nap and I found her with it in her bedroom coloring in her coloring book. :)
They offer so many different colors and I'm beyond hooked. I think I will be going back to buy a few more colors to add to the mix. Maybe a royal blue, yellow and green.....
I'm looking around the house trying to figure out what else I can 'color'.
Fun times!
What are your thoughts?
Should I have left it alone or are you digging the new colors?
Okay, don't tell me if you don't like it......

The End Of An Era

My friend Tarah flew to her new destination this morning. She will live in Costa Rica for 2 months and learn spanish and then on to Dominica where she will begin her new adventure. We had a girls night to celebrate at Bin 73. This classic place had been the stomping grounds of Tarah & I's a few years back and will always hold a special place in my heart.
We nibbled on the fruit & cheese platter, hummus with pita bread & Ahi Tuna.
Ashley & I
GNO with Tarah's closest friends
After Bin, we headed to another favorite, classic spot~Flips!
I will miss her so!
We decided that our ladies night couldn't be the last time we saw each other.
We made a dinner date for Tuesday.
On the menu:
Spaghetti Baked Bruschetta
Ceaser Salad with Homemade Cheese Croutons
& Chocolate Cake
Some of my favorite peeps!
La Baguette Cake for dessert

We're so serious. :) Trying to set the self-timer on the camera.
Last farewell dinner was amazing!
Great food, good friends & long talks about Tarah's new beginning.
It was perfect & I wish her so much success in her new journey! Can't wait to visit!

~In 2008, one of my favorite days with Tarah~
We started off the day with church at Life, brunch at Pearl's and were enjoying a very hot, summer afternoon watching the Bocce Ball contest at Deep Fork in these pictures. Oh, I will cherish our many memories together!
Kisses to you, my friend! XOXO

Pop Art

I may have an obsession with this collage thing, but I couldn't resist my very own Warhol of my sweet babies! I would love to have these framed for the hallway!
