Celebrating One Fab Hub

Setting up for my Husband's Birthday Dinner was so much fun for me.
The girls and I ran errands all morning.
Hobby Lobby for scrapbook paper for homemade streamers, fish market for lobster, market for flowers, balloons, cake ingredients and strawberries. Audrey even helped me whisk....
It was my first time using my cobalt blue vintage goblets and they looked fantastic.
 tablescape is done
All dressed up, waiting for the Birthday Boy to arrive home from work.
We practiced the song quite a few times that day.
 On the menu:
Lobster, parmesan risotto, chopped salad, sauteed portobello mushrooms
Dessert:
His fave~German Chocolate Cake and white and dark chocolate covered strawberries
 Waiting patiently for cake.
My first time baking a layered cake.
I know, I know...why did I wait this long I have no idea.
Turned out delish!
One of my favorite traditions with my family.
Birthday balloon launch with tied up wishes
Resting after a very fulfilling dinner on the patio watching the girls play.
 The aftermath of dinner

For Conor's birthday party with friends and family we celebrated at the Bowling Ally and ended the night at the Karaoke Bar. Which I conveniently forgot to take pictures of. Ha!
A memorable night for everyone!
Happy Birthday to The Love of My Life and here's to many many more birthdays together!

Living Room

Thrifty Decor Chick
I thought it would be fun to do a 'Show Us Your Family Room' link party via Thrifty Decor Chick.

So Here it is in all its glory...
and always a work in progress.

~Starting with the foyer~
(all taken on instagram)
My mantle with my most recent purchase, foo porcelain dogs and my original art
 My grandmother's table
Collection of paper weights and pics of the girls
Grandma's china cabinet, vintage candle sticks, and vintage champs poster of Grace Kelly
This area of shelving is where I house all my breakable collectables.
Something you must do with tiny little hands running around.

We bought the orange hand blown vase on our honeymoon in Sante Fe, made by my brother-in law Colin. The picture my mom brought back to me from Paris, a tiny ceramic pitcher that was my grandma's and a piece of coral from Hawaii.
The turquoise couple statue I bought on my first trip to Chicago at the Chicago Art Museum. The clay pitcher my sister brought back for me from Italy. The glass egg is from my grandma's collection. The picture was taken 4 years ago as we were leaving the church on our wedding day.
My sister got this green and blue glass sculpture for me for my 30th birthday and I love it. The quartz rock is from my recent trip to Del Mar and the vase was a Christmas present from my bro-in law
Ikea throw and pillow
Fun finds sitting on my buffet table behind the couch
Coffee table books and fresh flowers are a must when styling any room.

Things I love to decorate with...
Fresh flowers, coffee table books, candles, trays, vintage finds, pictures, art, antiques, collectables.
Hope you enjoyed it.

A Birthday Gift for Daddy

Making a box to catch all of Conor's receipts, spare change, golf tees, wallet, etc.
We personalized it with art, a picture and a poem.
 Picking out cuff links.
I had to nix a set Audrey initially picked out that were of red lips. Didn't see Conor rocking those anytime soon.
 Finger painting
Top of the box
I just modged podged the art on top of the box with a couple of coats
Inside
I included a recent picture of our weekend at the river and a poem that I saw on pinterest that i thought was so sweet.
you'll be...
her first kiss
her first love
her first friend
you are her daddy
and she is your whole world
she is your little girl
and included inside of the box were the new cuff links the girls and I picked out.
Happy Happy Birthday to THE LOVE of our lives!

A Birthday Card

Everything in our house is a big deal. So when I told the girls it was time to sign Daddy's birthday card, you would've thought I was entering this card in an art contest or something. Ava wanted the envelope and Audrey wanted the card so that worked out perfectly. We sat there for a good solid hour just doodling and taking pics and video. It was too darn funny! They are serious about their doodling.
Apparently I was breaking her concentration
 Showing her envelope goodness
Funny Little girls I tell ya!

Pre-K

Ava started 2 year old Pre-K and is a Hippo.
Audrey started 3 year old Pre-K and is a Cheetah.
They wanted their nails painted before school...fuscia pink.
Ava had to take Bitty Baby with us.
Audrey had to wear her turquoise Toms.
Picking them up from school, they were all smiles.
My babies are growing up.
Bittersweet indeed.
