Landscaping Before & After.....

Our home was built in 1963, so I can only imagine the bushes were planted that year as well. I didn't feel bad at all making the decision to remove them. Before....
And After......We had a landscaper come out and give us a quote of $4800 including labor. We saved soooo much $$ doing the flower bed ourselves. With Conor's hard work and manual labor & my green thumb eye (ha) and shopping skills we managed to put our heads together and come up with a spectacular garden that we are so proud of!!!!
All these bushes overwhelmed this space......
After......We removed the bricks and simplified this bed with a Japanese Maple, Junipers, Hostas, Ferns, & ground cover. Bronze shutters were also added & we transplanted the old bushes to our backyard flower bed.
Before........
After......I would like to add some Dwarf Maiden Grass and some Cypress Shrubs soon, but I haven't been able to find any available because it's still a little too early.
Look at those elevated berms!!! Hubby did so good!! Our Deodora "Love Tree" (My Valentine's Present) & Weeping Blue Atlus Cedar are the two focal points in this garden.
I love this moss ground cover......
Autumn Fern. I loved the purple interior of this plant.
Japanese Maple.....
I love this hairy little guy. False Cypress Shrubs!
Forgot the name of this one, but it's beautiful with it's silver green color. I'm a big fan of red Geraniums.....
Pencil Holly & our recycled boulder rock........
Hostas & Asylum, which smells amazing.
Hydrangeas make my heart skip a beat. Especially blue ones for that matter. They may be a little high-maintenance with the aluminum sulphate that needs to be mixed and watered into them every couple of months, but I HAD to have them in the garden this year. You can kinda see they are turning back to pink, so it's about time to feed them with that mixture.
2 pots full of caladiums, geraniums, & sweet potato vine frame our front porch .......
