Anniversary

We celebrated our anniversary last week. We enjoyed some martinis at Flips before we headed to dinner.
Dinner at 501 was very nice. It was our first time eating here and really enjoyed it. I ordered the Sante Fe Chicken while Conor enjoyed The Meatloaf.
It's always so nice to get to actually sit down and eat my hot dinner. I spend countless nights standing in the kitchen while I'm scarfing down my cold dinner trying to get Audrey to eat as well. Not complaining, just thankful of the rare moments like an evening out with my husband, savoring every sip of wine and every bite of food.
Present time. I dropped the present off a head of time so it would be presented to him during dessert.
And that dessert was something else!
Funny story, but last year we were supposed to make each other's anniversary gift. Conor made me a Mac picture album online of our first year together, which was so touching and heartfelt and I loved it. Me on the other hand {being the biggest procrastinator you will ever meet}, bought a huge blank canvas, some paint brushes, and acrylic paint and envisioned painting him a portrait of Audrey for our hallway. Never quite got around to that. The canvas is still behind our bed because it was the only place I could secretly stash it without him figuring out what I was up to. A year later, I finally made him last year's anniversary present. It's a shadow box filled with a concert stub ticket on the night he proposed to me, a flower and card from the first flower bouquet he sent me, cut up cards from our wedding, my Redbud Classic medal from our 2nd date, among other things. He had no idea that I keep a keepsake box for all the fun things we do together like this. Hopefully I totally redeemed myself. Better late than never, right!?!
Since it's cotton this year, Conor bought me the most beautiful scarf & blouse from Balliets that screamed my name! It will be perfect for Fall! He was so proud! I bought him some cotton under shirts for work, because he was in desperate need for some. Ha!

Happy anniversary to an amazing man who makes me feel so happy, blessed, safe, & loved!
