Friday Randoms

Catching you up on life's happenings lately.....

I've had this gold mirror for several years and I'm shocked I haven't painted it sooner.
I had 2 yards of burlap left over from Audrey's party so I painted a Valentine's banner.
After: really lightens up the entry, don't ya think?
Celebrating my best friends husbands birthday at Blue Sage Studio where we watched the artists create a hand blown bowl that Sam got to take home. Such an awesome idea for a party. Pretty sure that's where we'll be celebrating mine this year.
Happy Birthday Sam!!
Enjoying some time out on the patio with Rachel, Colin and their new puppy Bandit . The girls loved him and we certainly enjoyed spending a day with them!
Dinner @ Pranzo
All dolled up and ready for school
We took an art lesson in Dallas and this is Conor's abstract. He's a Pro!
Making Valentine's boxes for school.
After my Grandmother passed away in 2010, I inherited her china cabinet that I've loved ever since I was little plus a bunch of her serving ware and dishes that she had stored in it. I'm very honored to have these items of hers and can't wait to organize over the weekend and get everything set up.
This is what her china cabinet looked like before.
And here it is after. I finally completed it late last night and I'm soooo proud of her! Isn't she a beaut!! I popped off the back and painted Permission Pink (coral) with a chevron stencil that I printed off of Pinterest and made my own stencil. After seeing this piece, I knew instantly this was my inspiration. The lines aren't perfect, but honestly it doesn't bother me. Spray painted the pulls and knobs with metallic spray paint and sanded the fire out of her. Added a little touch of turquoise and coral on the detailed curves on the hutch and after 2 months she is finally sitting pretty in my living room. I haven't decided if it will go in the dining or not. I kinda like it where it's at for now. But I love playing musical chairs with my furniture and accessories, so who knows.

Enjoy your weekend.

Happy Monday

Happy Monday!
We had a great low key weekend.
Audrey spent the night with Nana & Papa on Friday so Ava & I got to spent some alone time together for once.
Football season is here so that means I've lost my hub for a while. He spent the majority of the weekend with his buddies watching games.
Organized/cleaned, ate good food, watched football, celebrated Heidi's birthday and I caught up on some much needed rest on Sunday while Conor entertained the girls. It was heaven!
We actually had a bit of fall weather this weekend!
Is there anything better than the changing of seasons from summer to fall?

While I was cleaning and organizing the house back into shape, Ava snagged my kitchen sponges and wouldn't let go.
Feeding herself applesauce is quite the mess
So we enjoyed some bath time together.

Her hair is reallllly trying to grow...
Saturday brought beautiful weather, a day of celebrating Heidi & a football watch party. One of Heidi's gifts was a swing/slide play set. The girls had no fear.
Heidi, Ava & Audrey bouncing like crazy!

We made a necklace for Heidi after she pointed out that she loved Audrey's.
Now they're twinks.
A Tangled Party
Vava went to town on the cake.
Loving my PhotoStudio app!
Julee and I on the patio watching the storm roll in. It felt sooo great. Shortly after, we lost power so that put an end to the birthday/watch party!
My weekend ended with some heavenly chocolate covered popcorn and Bravo on Sunday evening after the girls went to bed.
A nice down time moment!
Hope you enjoyed your weekend!

Easter Weekend

Saturday was the day I've been waiting for for a while. The thought of coloring Easter eggs with my girls got me sooo excited. Last year Audrey & I didn't partake in the coloring process because she was all over the place and way too young. I knew she would love it this year, which she did and she was really good at it. I dragged Conor away from the couch at 9am to join in on the fun.
It really was the cutest thing ever!!
Saturday night I kicked the hub out and had the girls over for a Champagne & Cupcake Party. I found this cupcake recipe online and knew I had to throw something together for the ladies. We nibbled on a cheese & fruit platter, chocolate covered strawberries & a champagne cocktail while decorating our cupcakes and kids' easter baskets.
It was divine!
I found myself at Target quite a bit leading up to Easter. It's really easy to go a little overboard when picking out items for the baskets. I literally couldn't help myself. The theme was Dora & Hello Kitty and Audrey loved it!
The Easter Basket Cupcakes turned out to be adorable!!
I think this may be my tradition every year!
::Easter morning::
LOTS of Sugar. Maybe worse than Halloween!
My family came over and Conor grilled out hamburgers and hotdogs.
We tried to hide eggs outside but the weather wasn't cooperating that day.
So we moved the hunt inside.
Sneaky!
So I had this vision of dressing the girls up in their matching Easter dresses on Easter morning, going to church, snapping some pics of us dressed up in our Sunday best, having a picnic at the park & hiding eggs for the kids while the weather was so sunny and pretty. Well my plan got shot down like no other!!
None of that happened!! We didn't go church. It poured down rain all day. Instead of the girls looking pretty in their dresses, they resembled a 'Hobo' on the street. Seriously, all Audrey needed was a grocery cart full of empty cans and she would've been set. Ha! She refused to take off her new Dora night gown and she wore ALL the jewelry that she found in her basket~which was about 10 pieces.
So here we are. In our Easter picture, looking like scrubs. I can't help but laugh out loud. It just goes to show you, you can never plan anything and sometimes it's what you don't plan that turns out to better than what you expected. We had a great weekend with family and made some fun memories. Next weekend however, we will be dressing up and going to church, and maybe even hiding Easter eggs outside again (if the weather permits)!
I was about to pop 1 Easter ago. :)
2 Easters ago in Georgia, Audrey was 3 months
Hope you had a Happy Easter!
