Sweet little Pumpkin

After waving bye to my Mom, who stopped in after work to chat with us girls, Audrey refused to come back in the house. So, I thought this would be the perfect time to shoot some fall pics, pantless and all! Hey, I'll take anything I can get from a very active, hard headed, bouncing-off-the-walls, sassy but sweet, 21-month year old. I've learned you can't plan these kinds of things.

Day 8 Challenge: {A photo that makes me sad}

We worked so hard pulling the bushes out of the ground, picking out our favorite trees and shrubs, strategically placing the flowers and bushes, laying the new mulch. Then the hail storm of 2010 demolished our new landscaping. Even with a busted out solar panel, a rained on couch, bent and damaged roof & guttering, a dented truck in the driveway, a leaning & scuffed up fence, broken patio furniture, & a banged up fire pit~it was very devastating to see all our hardwork that we put into our garden be destroyed in a matter of minutes. They still haven't made a comeback yet, but I'm hoping next year is their year to shine.

Day 7 Challenge: {A photo that makes me happy}

While all my photos are favorites of mine, this one definitely stands out. Allison & yours truly wine tasting in Temecula, California in March of 2007. My first time at a winery and to California for that matter. A bunch of Allison's nurses and doctors in the ER rented a party bus and we drove the 2 hour bus ride to Temecula and went to 5 different wineries. We definitely drank way too much and had too good of a time, but it is a memory that I will never forget.
I had just broken off my engagement {thank God} and was pretty tore up about it even though it was for the best. I decided a little dose of Allison is just what I needed. I flew to San Diego literally 2 days after and never looked back. This trip was the beginning of a new era for me. It represented a new found freedom that I really liked. It opened up my eyes to new and exciting things. It opened me up to some failures as well. I learned more about myself that year than I had my entire life. I'm grateful for the trying times in life, for it makes life all the more beautiful when the future is just what you've dreamed it would be.
